Monfort is well-known for being Louis-Marie Grignion's place of birth, in 1673 (Rue de la Saulnerie, one of the city's oldest streets).
In this house is perpetuated the memory of this missionary whom devoted his life to the religious reconquest of the working class.
He created several religious charities : 'les Filles de la Sagesse', 'les Frères de Saint Gabriel' and 'les Frères et les Pères Montfortains'.
The house can be visited throughout the year (by knocking at the door) and it also receives pilgrimages.
